Your Chaco Canyon Journey Begins Here

Day One 

As your guide, we will begin our journey by stepping into the story of one of the most extraordinary places in North America. 

We begin on day one with an exploration of the great houses Pueblo Bonito and Chetro Ketl and the enigmatic structure known as Casa Rinconada. Together we will examine the sophisticated masonry and architectural design that makes Chaco's stone structures so unique, while discussing how the ancient people lived, gathered resources, built and organised their world within the canyon. 

Along the Petroglyph Trail we will pause to view the long story of the ancient ones-powerful symbols etched into rock-spirals, handprints, anthropomorphic figures and star beings-unpacking their possible meanings and significance. 

Throughout the day we will weave the wisdom of the stones and stars with our imaginations, exploring not only what scholars know, about the site, but also what the ancestors of the ancient ones tell us through their enduring oral traditions. 

We will also spend time in silence,  allowing the canyon to become our teacher. In these quiet moments surrounded by towering canyon walls and and vast sky, we will listen to the whispers of the ancient ones carried in the wind and held in stone. 

This stillness invites reflection and presence, creating space to feel the energy of the land and to connect with something deeper within us. By slowing down and honouring the silence, we open the door the our own inner voice-gaining an insight, clarity and connection to Chaco that goes beyond history and lingers long after we leave.

Day Two 

We begin a full day of exploration, quite literally walking in the footsteps of the ancients, as we ascend a well-worn path once used by their ancestors to reach the mesa top.

From this high vantage point on the Pueblo Alto Trail, a spectacular panorama unfolds below us—Pueblo Bonito in all its grandeur, its enigmatic D-shaped form and multiple kivas clearly visible, offering insight into the community, ceremony, and cosmic order that once defined life here. 

Continuing on the trail we will have a spectacular view of the remnants of Chetro Ketl, one of the largest great houses ever constructed in North America. We will also explore the remnants of the  mysterious Chacoan Road System built by the ancient ones and take in a sweeping 360-degree view of the canyon and distant mountains, allowing us to appreciate the vast expanse of Chacoan influence across the region.

We will then descend from the mesa top and continue our journey along the towering cliff walls, where numerous petroglyphs emerge—depicting star beings, migration routes, clan symbols, and images of profound cosmic significance. 

Our path leads us onward to the Supernova Pictograph, one of Chaco Canyon’s most iconic images, believed to record the brilliant supernova witnessed here, and around the world, in 1054 A.D. Along the way, we will slow our pace to listen for the whispers in the wind, the rush of raven wings overhead, and to see the imagined faces of stone beings revealed in the cliffs and rocks, reminding us that this landscape is alive with memory, story, and presence.

Tour Price

Your investment includes a full-day, 6–8 hour private/semi-private guided experience exploring the sites described above. This guided tour explores the site’s rich archaeological history and cultural significance, revealing how its original people lived and connected to their world. We’ll uncover evidence of daily life, and the deep connection between the landscape and the stars, including celestial alignments and star lore. We will speculate  who the original inhabitants were, where they are believed to have come from, and the leading theories about why they eventually left, blending archaeology, oral tradition, and our galactic human history into a woven story of people and place. 

Investment for this rememberment journey is $353 per person, per day for two day bookings.

Single day bookings are priced at $452 per person, two person minimum and include the Day One itinerary. 

Tours are capped at ten person maximum to ensure intimacy of experience. 

What is NOT covered in the investment: Entrance fee into the site, transportation, lodging, meals.
